Virtually Volunteer
The residents at Encore have long enjoyed the relationship the Avalon Park community has shared with them. Due to the recent regulations for their health and safety, they have not been able to receive friends, family or visitors. Even their activities have been disrupted, as no one, except for essential staff are allowed to be in the community. As you can imagine this creates a very lonely environment! However, in true Avalon fashion, we have heard from the community that they want to continue to visit and interact with the residents of Encore. So we have created a Virtual Volunteer program so the residents can get some interaction in a safe and socially distanced manner during these challenging times. Below you will find a list of ways that you can virtually volunteer with Encore and we hope that you will take advantage of them.
1. Pen Pal-Write an introductory letter of yourself and/or your family. We will then connect you with a resident to start a Pen Pal relationship. Letter should be addressed to the following:

2. Facetime Visit-Call the front desk to organize a personalized visit virtually, using technology: 407-270-7500.
3. Record a positive message to the residents or staff and send to Info@EncoreAtAvalonPark.com.
4. Have a performance group like a theater group or musical group? Record a short performance and send to Info@EncoreAtAvalonPark.com. Or call 407-270-7500 to schedule a Zoom Performance.
5. Send Cards or Treats to Encore at Avalon Park.
6. Donate an interactive activity that the residents can use while they are socially distanced, some ideas:
a. Raised Garden Bed
b. Sensory Blankets
c. Large Pieced Puzzles
d. Arts and Crafts Supplies
7. Organize a fundraiser. The Encore Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 available for participating in any fundraiser that might help raise funds for seniors in Encore for activities, supplies and support and seniors in our community. 8. Thank a Caregiver. Encore have close to 100 staff members that have been tirelessly caring for our residents. If you would like to thank them or give them a positive word of encouragement, here are a few ways:
