Memory Care Program
The memory care program at Encore at Avalon Park includes our Songbird program, which is important in helping young adults thrive as they make a positive difference in the life of another. As their hard work helps awaken the minds of their elders, these young people see just how valuable the elder community is.
Our Songbird program is important to helping young adults thrive as they make a positive difference in the life of another. As their hard work helps awaken the minds of their elders, these young people see just how valuable the elder community is.
We use the Songbird program as a cornerstone of our memory care process here at Encore. Engaging elderly people with Alzheimer’s in music has proven to help stimulate memory and other brain functions. That’s why we at Encore, a Music and Memory certified community, offer programs like the Songbird music program. We have partnered with students in our community to help engage elders affected by mind-altering disabilities. We will pair your loved one with a young adult who will work closely with them throughout the year to create a customized playlist to help them to be able to connect with their surroundings more.
As a part of our Memory Care program, we’ve teamed up with the Central Florida Creative Care Association to bring our wonderful residents a way to unlock memories thought to be long gone while engaging with youth in the area. The Songbird program allows us to bring students and elders affected by disability together to help bridge a generational gap with music.

Issues regarding memory is a limiting factor for a patient and it damages their social self-perception and discourages interaction. A healthy social life is substantial to keeping the memory sharp at an older age. At Encore at Avalon Park, we provide a sense of community and a venue for socializing.
